VDC is still forbidden--you're not supposed to actually drive this car. Just enjoy the carbon footprint and await your arrival.
What really irks me about the new buyer disclosure form, though, is the clause about the black box data. I've blogged about the GTR black box and warranty denials before (here and here), and Nissan Motors USA has been reading my blog. Check out this bombshell from the new buyer disclosure form:
...denying access to any data or information stored in any computer, control unit, or electronic module VOIDS ALL COVERAGE under the 2010 Nissan GT-R New Vehicle Limited Warranty.
I guess they took note of when I said you own the black box data, not Nissan, because now they want to compel you to give it up.
I'm not a lawyer, but I don't see how this can stand up in court. They have no right to your data, and I don't see how they can deny your warranty by your refusing to give up your privacy. This is a slippery slope. What's next? Install a webcam in your garage and your car to make sure you drive and maintain it properly?
