chip and pin

now that chip and pin has been proven insecure, does that mean all the cases where people tried to sue their "unhackable" banks for stolen money can have their cases reopened?

maybe this will prompt a liability shift back to the banks for chip and pin 2.0...

awesome

wired threat level: hackers steal millions in carbon credits

destroying a company

transportation secy ray lahood tells us to stop driving recalled toyotas immediately.  toyota stock plummets in response.

this sure would reek of impropriety if, say, the government owned a competing car company or two, but that's not even the big issue... i wonder what's really going on that a news story had to be manufactured and a company had to be destroyed just to keep the masses busy and panicked.

my tablet predictions (if there even is a tablet)

  • no home button
  • absolutely wild multitouch
  • less storage than you might expect
  • a push for paid services and storage
  • who knows, maybe even fingerprint authentication

apple vs google

apple mulls switching to microsoft search - this shows you whom they really perceive as a threat.

it's not just the body scanners that can store images

i was wondering how long it would take: cnn and wired threat level reported today that airport body scanners can store & forward pictures of your junk.

what about your bags though? check this out:
If an X-ray screener identifies a bag that requires a secondary manual search, NDS enables the search operator to reconcile the scanned bag image (and highlighted threat objects) with the contents of the actual bag.
so there's an image archive of all our carry-ons...
