I visited the Carrollton Animal Services Adoption Center a couple days ago and asked to visit with a dog on premises. I was told that they can't let me see the dog because it's a pit bull, and something "bad could happen." It's for my protection, you see. [facepalm] Click the jump for a video of this "dangerous" puppy.

corvette c6 z06 long-term review update
as some of you will recall, five years ago i was fortunate enough to take delivery of one of the very first c6 corvette z06s to hit the streets. through this article, that car thrust me into a side gig doing freelance automotive journalism.

us bank giving canadians better deals
while in canada last week, i noticed an advertisement for ally bank's 2% "high interest" savings account. 2% beats out my current bank by, well, a lot.
i emailed ally and asked if i can open one of these accounts.

bus fare
imagine you buy a bus pass for a ride across town. you spend an hour at the bus stop waiting, and finally get on the bus when it arrives. you wait another half hour on the bus before it leaves. once it's 15 minutes past the time you were supposed to leave, the bus driver tells you the check-engine light is on and mechanics are on the way. you want to get off and take another bus, but you've already spent your bus fare on this broken bus, can't get it back, and the bus driver won't let you off the bus anyway. you're trapped.

score one for the good guys
remember the biker who had a gun shoved in his face by an off-duty cop after some high-speed stunts on a maryland freeway?
62mpg
our elite and all-knowing rulers are mulling raising the cafe standards to 62mpg by 2025. to non-car people, that means all cars and trucks sold by each automaker will have to average 62mpg. yes, even cadillacs, corvettes, and trucks.
